i have bin in hundreds of parades tbh. cant remember my first one so Ill tell u the story of my favourite one: the Beijing Festive of Music (i think that is what it was called) my band (white spot pipe band woop woop!) was invited by the Chinese government to play at the Beijing Tourism Festival that encompassed 2 festivals: the music one and the Beijing light festival (i think :P). we paraded down an industrial street in Bejing which started at a park that over looked an old steal mill (that had chimney stacks that look a bit too much like nuclear ones for my liking) and ended at a stage that over looked the same place. this stage was in front of some water that was kinda glowing green, pretty sure i am now radio active.  It was truly amazing. we were rock stars in the eyes of the people watching us. they had huge smiles on there faces. ones that i have never seen here in North America. i did hurt myself though. rolled my ankle on some railroad tracks in the first 5 minutes and had to do the next 40 minutes in agonizing pain.  #1 badge!
